Our Preschool / Year 1

In the British education system, Year 1 marks the first year of formal education and is an integral part of Primary Education, focusing on nurturing early development and preparing children for the exciting learning journey ahead.

Age-wise, Year 1 is the equivalent of Parashkollor, Grade 0, or the last year of Casa (Montessori Kindergarten), but the curriculum taught in Year 1 leans more towards Primary Education than Early Years.

Meet the Team

A word from our Year 1 Teacher

Hello! I'm Ms. Catherine, and it has been an absolute joy to be part of the Kings Tirana family for the past three years. With a true passion for teaching young learners, I strive to create a warm, welcoming, and inspiring classroom where every child feels valued, safe, and excited to learn.

As an educator with a wealth of experience and a love for writing children's books, I've found Kings Tirana to be the perfect place to nurture students as they begin their educational journey.

I am excited to guide them with care and encouragement, helping them take their first steps toward a bright future. I look forward to taking this journey together with our valued parents, working hand in hand to make each child's learning experience as joyful and fulfilling as possible.

Support

Targeted Learning Programme

Our Targeted Learning Programme is designed to support students who join Kings Tirana with learning gaps. While we aim to address academic challenges within the regular school framework for students enrolled with us from an early stage, this programme provides additional support for those who need tailored assistance to catch up and excel.

At this critical developmental stage, we help students build a strong foundation in key skills:

  • Early Literacy and Numeracy Support — reinforcing essential skills in reading, writing, and mathematics.
  • Phonics and Language Development — for students requiring extra help with language acquisition and comprehension.
  • Confidence Building — creating a positive learning environment that nurtures growth and academic enthusiasm.
  • Learning Albanian as a second language.
Beyond the Classroom

Enrichment Beyond the Classroom

After-school activities and the Kings Summer programme offer students the chance to explore their interests and develop skills outside of core academics. For our Year 1 students we offer:
